Pulse Survey Training

The title slide of the training. I notice the wrong here. It is the dates. Supposedly it is September 22 and 23.
The venue of our training. The hall was really small.

the participants :)
First Day:
Honestly, when I was invited to attend this I have the hesitations because I am not actually interested with these surveys and I don’t want surveys personally, but, I was really wrong! I hate myself for not wanting surveys, at least now I am more learned.

I went there exactly 8am, there was still a few participant. I signed on the registration form and Maam gave me pencil, kit and a copy of HB5599. I went inside the hall and sit somewhere that I am comfortable to.

It’s 9am and the participants are all starting to come..and finally, It started at about 9:30 am.

The program started with an opening prayer and then introduction of the speakers was done. The first thing that was discussed was about the Objective of the training, and I know that Objectives should always be present so that there would be a certain guide on what we should do. Then the history was also discussed so as with some parts of the HouseBill5599.

We also discussed here about the hottest topic roaming around the Cordillera Region which is about the Autonomy or the renewed movement of the Cordilleran Region which is to become an Autonomous Region. Personally I’ve been hearing and I am slight familiar with this autonomy, with this training it helped me a lot to understand about this. (I think I have no rights to discuss the autonomy. I don’t want to pull anyone’s idea and decision about it.)

After the speaker discussed about this things, We have had an open forum and this was amazing. I learned a lot! Lot! Lot! I love listening on arguments and question and answer activities. I am learning a lot by listening and participating.

The open forum was finally done and It was nearly 12noon (lunchtime). We are dismissed J The great thing about this training is also our snack and lunch are all free, we did not pay for anything in this Training. J How lucky we are.

In the afternoon, the questionnaire that they gave to us was discussed thoroughly. The questionnaires we are holding is for our practice survey for the next day which is the second day of this training.

Second Day:
I came 8am again and as expected the participant are few. I hate it that I’m always early hahaha!

This day’s activity was in actual. We have been assigned to different household around the private road of Magsaysay where we conducted the survey. It is in group of two’s my partner in this survey is Reymart.

He let me conduct the first survey. I interviewed this woman that is knowledgeable about autonomy, she explained all her negative comments about it and oh, she is working on government and is afraid that her name written on the survey form will be read by the government officials, but, after assuring the confidentiality of the form she did not insist anymore to erase her name.

My partner’s survey was really slow. I waited for him for about 20min gosh! While mine was only 5min haha! Anyways, his survey really went well, He was questioned about the autonomy, the respondent let him explained everything unlike mine because the woman has the knowledge with it.

After our actual survey we went back to the hall and have a small discussion about our experiences. It was indeed a very unforgettable experience; this is my first time going on a household and interview an individual regarding a hot topic on the Cordillera Region.
We have had our lunch after the briefing.

Done eating! Now.. .we will be assigned to the different barangays in Baguio City fpr the real survey that will be counted on the Regional Development Council.

So I am assigned at Dominical-Mirador and I should finish 30 respondents in 1 day. Hoping I could do it on Saturday..gosh! I will be going alone…hoping I could do it..haha!

This is it. On Saturday it will be a true survey. I can do it!
